So you are finally going to get your chance to travel cross country by bus. Whether it's for one week or three weeks you are going to plan for the idea that there simply is not going to be much room and that means you had better plan ahead when it comes to packing.
Below are tips on what to do when touring on a bus while taking your holidays.
It's really important that the piece of luggage you pick is going to be something that is going to be easy for you to manage and that it can be carried easily and can be left on the bus with ease as well. An oversized backpack or a smaller suitcase that is on wheels should work very nicely.
You need to research the various locations that you will be visiting and make sure that you know what the weather is generally like at all of your destinations during the time of year that you will be traveling there. The weather conditions can vary considerably as you travel cross country so this is really important to research so that you know what kind of clothing you should be packing.
To begin with start with the basics and pack two T-shirts along with two of your most comfortable pairs of pants. Make sure that you have a couple of different thickness of materials when choosing your clothes so that you will be able to adjust to the different weather conditions as you cross the country. Also, make sure that the material that you choose is made of material that will dry fast.
After you have the two T-shirts and pants then add a couple of wrinkle proof tops or shirts a long with a skirt and a nice pair of pants as well as a dress if you are a woman. For men make sure there are a couple of nicer shirts and dress pants. You don't always want to wear T-shirts and jeans. Dressing in other types of clothing will help you look less the tourist anyway.
You should also add some sort of raincoat or a lighter coat for inclement weather. It wouldn't hurt to include an umbrella either and a sweater and scarf in case you run into places that have some cold evenings.
You should wear one pair of comfortable shoes or sandals and have one other pair in your suitcase, two at the most, one a walking pair the other a pair of dress shoes if you plan on going somewhere nice during one of your stops.
When you are packing your underwear and other person hygiene items make sure you base this on what kind of travel time you will be experiencing in between the different hotels you'll be staying at. If the journeys will be long distances then pack according to that, however; if they are shorter journeys you will be able to buy things you need and will have the opportunity to wash your things during your stays.
Items that you should have handy and not packed away when traveling on the bus would be books, your MP3 or iPods and especially your camera. Make sure that you have this at your disposal so you can capture some of the incredible sights you will see while riding on the bus. Also remember to include a small clock, something to write on, something to write with, sunglasses and plenty of minutes on your phone if you are bringing your cell phone.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that if you are travelling in a foreign country that you bring an appropriate electrical adapter for any electrical items you have brought with you. Electricity outputs can vary greatly across various locales so make sure you have the proper equipment so you don't damage your electrical items.

Introduction to Disinfectants
A disinfectant is a chemical agent that is used to reduce the number of viable microorganisms on pharmaceutical surfaces to an acceptable level. Disinfectants have a variety of properties that include spectrum of activity, mode of action, and effectiveness. Some are bacteriostatic, where the ability of the bacterial population to reproduce is halted. In this case, the disinfectant can cause selective and reversible changes to microbial cells by interacting with nucleic acids and inhibiting enzymes, or permeating into the cell wall. Once the disinfectant is removed from contact with bacterial cells, the surviving bacterial population can potentially grow. Other disinfectants are bactericidal in that they destroy bacterial cells and cause irreversible damage through different mechanisms that include structural damage to the cell, cell lysis, and autolysis, resulting in leakage or coagulation of cytoplasm. The destruction of bacterial and fungal spores is a property which a given disinfectant may or may not possess. This type of chemical agent is called a sporicide. A chemical agent does not have to be sporicidal in order to be classified as a 'disinfectant' or as a 'biocide'. The bacteriostatic, bactericidal and sporicidal properties of a disinfectant is influenced by many variables.
Disinfectants can be categorized into groups by chemical nature, spectrum of activity, or mode of action. Some disinfectants, on entering the microbial cell either by disruption of the membrane or through diffusion, proceed to act on intracellular components. Actions against the microbial cell include: acting on the cell wall, the cytoplasmic membrane (where the matrix of phospholipids and enzymes provide various targets) and the cytoplasm. This section provides a summary some of the more common disinfectants used the pharmaceutical environment. The two principle categories consist of non-oxidizing and oxidizing disinfectants.
Non-Oxidizing Disinfectants: The majority of disinfectants in this group have a specific mode of action against microorganisms and generally have a lower spectrum of activity compared to oxidizing disinfectants. These disinfectants include alcohols. Alcohols have an antibacterial action against vegetative cells. The effectiveness of alcohols against vegetative bacteria increases with their molecular weight (i.e., ethanol is more effective than methanol and in turn isopropyl alcohols are more effective than ethanol). Alcohols, where efficacy is increased with the presence of water, act on the bacterial cell wall by making it permeable. This can result in cytoplasm leakage, denaturation of protein and eventual cell lysis (alcohols are one of the so called 'membrane disrupters'). The advantages of using alcohols include a relatively low cost, little odor and quick evaporation. However, alcohols have very poor action against bacterial and fungal spores and can only inhibit spore germination at best.
Oxidizing Disinfectants: This group of disinfectants generally has non-specific modes of action against microorganisms. They have a wider spectrum of activity than non-oxidizing disinfectants with most types able to damage bacterial endospores. The disinfectants in this group pose greater risks to human health. This group includes oxygen-releasing compounds like peracetic acid and hydrogen peroxide. They are often used in the gaseous phase as surface sterilants for equipment. These peroxygens function by disrupting the cell wall causing cytoplasm leakage and can denature bacterial cell enzymes through oxidation. Oxidizing agents are clear and colorless, thereby eliminating staining, but they do present significant health and safety concerns particularly in terms of causing respiratory difficulties to unprotected users.

Things to Consider When Selecting a Pet Urn
Pets are some of the closest beings to anyone's heart. Only those who ever have had a pet know how much they mean to them. It is very unfortunate yet a fact that that most pets have a lifecycle much less than the masters; unless you are of course going for a turtle as a pet that has a history of living more than five hundred years. The most popular pets are dogs, cats, hamsters, birds etc. as days go by, and these pets gradually become a part of your life, more like a family member, a child or a friend.
It is no surprise that it hurts equally if not more when these pets pass away. Like any other death, these incidents will leave you all shaky and depressed. It will prove very hard to get out of the grieving phase. In such cases, you will not easily want to let go of the memories of the pet. If possible, you will want to hold on to them as much as possible. Apart from pictures and video clips of fond memories, pet urns are another way of keeping your pets physically thee with you.
These carriers make it possible to maintain the ashes of your loved pets. When you are going through the initial mourning periods, you really do not want to let go off the pets that have accompanied you for years and have given birth to many unforgettable memories and have been there at your side no matter what. Parting with them suddenly come down as something very hard to face.
When you want to keep your pet even after they pass away, you would want to do that in a special manner. What can be more special than a custom urn? You can get these made according to your specifications. You can follow a theme as well to commemorate your pet's memory. For example, if your cat was very fond of playing with balls, you can have a ball shaped carrier, you can go for a big bone shaped one for your dog. The ones that are available at vet clinics are rather prosaic and do not have much room for improvement. So what you can do is have your pet's ashes in these containers and then keep them inside a custom made one.
No matter what type of a custom urn you go for, always try and pick the right material for the urn. Go for something durable even if it requires you to pay some more. If you would want to eventually bury it, then go for a bio-degradable product. Although it seems impossible to part from your pet's ashes right after the unfortunate incident, eventually when you come out of the grief and would want that the beloved to go back to mother earth, a biodegradable carrier will be a smart option. After all, it's your pet-a very important part of your life; it deserves nothing less than the best.
